Visiting Writer

Marian Haddad, MFA is available for VISITING WRITERSHIPS at colleges, universities, high schools, and junior high schools across the nation.

Haddad is available for various periods of time with advance notice: periods ranging from one day to one semester to one year.

In her visiting writerships, Haddad conducts creative writing workshops and offers up a list of various “readings in poetry, creative non-fiction and fiction” suggesting an array of styles and writers; the reading portion of the visiting writership is implemented through a guided and/or independent approach or a combination of both approaches. The visiting writerships will involve having students: create original work, go through the workshopping of their own work by the workshop attendees and likewise be expected to participate in workshopping peers’ works, and public readings (attending and participating in, for those interested).*

Haddad teaches creative writing in the following tracks: Poetry, Creative Non-Fiction and Fiction.

*Extended visiting writerships can and normally do include organizing and moderating public readings for her students at end-semester and/or mid-semester.
